Benin’s Noureni Bah Leman has been named Player of the Match following his side’s goalless draw against hosts Burkina Faso in the opening game of the WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Championship.
Leman received the individual accolade after Benin held Burkina Faso to a 0-0 stalemate in Saturday’s Group A encounter in Ouagadougou.
The result saw both teams share the points in the tournament’s opening fixture, with neither side able to find the breakthrough.
The recognition for Leman provides a positive note for Benin as they begin their campaign in the competition, which serves as the qualifying tournament for the 2027 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Benin will now look to build on the opening-day result as they prepare for their remaining Group A fixtures, with the aim of securing qualification for the continental tournament.
