Ghana’s Abdul Latif Wunzalgu has been named Man of the Match following the Black Starlets’ 1-0 victory over Togo in their opening Group A fixture at the WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Championship in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
Wunzalgu’s recognition comes after Ghana secured all three points in Saturday’s encounter, making a winning start to their campaign in the competition.
David Kwarteng scored the decisive goal in the seventh minute to hand Ghana an early lead, which proved enough to secure victory against their West African neighbours.
The result gives the Black Starlets a positive start to the tournament, which serves as the qualifying competition for the 2027 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana will now turn their attention to their next Group A fixture as they continue their quest for qualification to the continental showpiece.
